What Happened?

Shares of supply chain software provider Manhattan Associates (NASDAQ: MANH) jumped 4% in the pre-market session after Morgan Stanley upgraded the company to Overweight from Equalweight with a $250 price target.

Morgan Stanley analyst Chris Quintero raised his price target to $250 from $180, implying roughly 22% upside from the previous $204.89 close, in research reported by StreetInsider and Investing.com. Quintero noted that cloud bookings are accelerating and likely to generate upward revisions to cloud revenue estimates, aided by structural go-to-market changes introduced by Chief Executive Officer Eric Clark.

Quintero highlighted that Manhattan is transitioning from an AI-debated stock into an AI beneficiary following favorable customer feedback on its agentic software tools. As outlined by Investing.com, Morgan Stanley’s vertical AI framework suggests supply-chain and retail operations have historically been under-automated, creating direct monetization paths for automated workflows.

The upgrade follows a 69.5% share price gain over the prior six months, with Quintero arguing that business momentum is inflecting positively despite an elevated valuation multiple.

What Is The Market Telling Us

Manhattan Associates’s shares are quite volatile and have had 16 moves greater than 5% over the last year. In that context, today’s move indicates the market considers this news meaningful but not something that would fundamentally change its perception of the business.

The previous big move we wrote about was 14 days ago when the stock dropped 3.4% on the news that a deepening Treasury selloff and higher oil prices pushed the benchmark 10-year yield to 5.218%, reinforcing expectations of further Federal Reserve rate hikes.

Manhattan Associates is up 30.6% since the beginning of the year, and at $218.43 per share, it is trading close to its 52-week high of $223.76 from August 2026. Investors who bought $1,000 worth of Manhattan Associates’s shares 5 years ago would now be looking at an investment worth $1,434.
