Business Central migration replaces an unsupported Dynamics NAV 2018 system, part of a wider run of U.S. projects this year

Dynamics Square USA has completed a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central implementation for a South Carolina recycling and materials recovery organization, replacing an aging Dynamics NAV 2018 environment that had fallen out of vendor support.

The organization processes scrap metal, electronics, vehicles, and consumer recyclables through daily drop-offs and commercial shipments, and had run finance, inventory, and purchasing on the unsupported NAV version, which limited reporting and left it dependent on a single outside consultant for support.

Dynamics Square USA moved the organization to Business Central on a software-as-a-service model, unifying finance, procurement, inventory, warehouse, and sales on one cloud platform, with structured approval workflows, Microsoft 365 alignment, and groundwork for Power BI reporting in a second phase.

This enabled the firm to work in a single cloud environment with unified data and leadership getting clear visibility into material intake, stock movement, and financial performance.

The project reflects a broader range of Business Central work for Dynamics Square USA this year: A Florida medical supplies manufacturer that replaced QuickBooks with Business Central and Dynamics 365 Sales and Customer Service, a national eyecare services platform that used Business Central's native consolidation tools to unify reporting across multiple entities, and a Niagara Falls-area hydraulic components manufacturer for the aviation industry that moved from Dynamics NAV 2013 to Business Central on-premises. Together, the projects show Business Central replacing legacy systems with a more connected operating model.

"Recycling operations run on tight margins and material prices that change daily, so the systems behind them have to keep pace," said Arish Siddiqui, Senior Manager, Business Development at Dynamics Square USA. "Moving this organization onto Business Central gave the team a platform built for that pace, with the visibility and stability to support the next stage of growth."
