Commercial model change, powered by agentic AI, automates back-office processes and creates capacity for insurance agencies

Patra, which operates one of the insurance industry’s largest production-grade agentic AI platforms, has launched managed services to orchestrate entire workflows aligned to how agencies operate. Patra is also among the first insurance distribution partners to carry errors and omissions coverage that extends to its AI-delivered services to give clients greater peace of mind around agentic-led service delivery.

“Our years of investment in agentic AI combined with in-depth workflow knowledge developed over decades of managing tens of thousands of processes have built the platform that makes this kind of workflow automation possible,” said Pratap Sarker, CEO at Patra. “We know that agencies are under pressure to do more with less, and they don’t need another tool for their teams to learn. Our managed services leapfrog the traditional outsourcing model by giving agencies a partner that owns the entire workflow with AI powering its velocity and precision. This unlocks savings and capacity for our clients at a scale that wasn’t achievable before.”

Most back-office support still works the way it has for decades: either in-house or outsourced task by task with coordination efforts still required by internal teams. Under Patra’s managed services, a single trigger sets an entire workflow in motion. Related operational tasks – from document retrieval through policy checking to delivery – are executed in sequence, quality checks run automatically in the platform, and the outcome is delivered as a finished product after review at key points by Patra’s insurance professionals. The client engages only for critical escalations or approvals.

The first managed services workflow is post-bind processing, which includes orchestrated automation of document retrieval, indexing, policy checking, agency management system data updates, policy delivery, and processing of renewal certificates of insurance. This set of tasks takes many hours over several weeks to complete, even with help from outsourcing partners. Now it will be done in just days, with only a few minutes of human review and decision-making. Patra plans to expand to additional workflows over time.

Patra processes tens of millions of insurance transactions annually for some of the industry’s largest brokers, agencies, MGAs, and wholesalers. Managed services apply Patra’s operational scale, AI fluency, and two decades of insurance-specific expertise in property and casualty and employee benefits to deliver outcomes through a finished workflow that is AI-driven, reviewed by experts, and run to each client’s agreed procedures.
